Snake Face
04:29
|
|||
After years on the trail, making my way home
I fought unspeakable evil and was subject of their prose
I became a hero of legend and no feat was too grand
When I took the head of Medusa, I hatched my incredible plan
She was serpently styling, with a hairdo so fly
Still I couldn't look her in the eye
I used a reflection, to acquire her dome
I turned them all... into stone
Oh I'll never forget and I know what I've seen
a petrified horizon, my cobra-headed queen
Your future seems so bleak, yeah
I've got it all right here, if you want to take a peek
By bending stories of my greatest deeds
I won the favour of all small-minded kings
I became a demigod and ascended all their thrones
Metamorphosized the kingdom and left me to reign all alone
Showing her face, to the ones I opposed
With this defense my power rose
My wing-ed sandals, they carried me home
Turned them all... into stone
Oh I'll never forget and I know what I've seen
a petrified horizon, my cobra-headed queen
Your future seems so bleak
I've got it all right here, if you want to take a little peek
I purvey my estate
I tip my crown
My granite Bourgeoisie
God, what have I done?
Oh I'll never forget and I know what I've seen
a petrified horizon, my cobra-headed queen
Your future seems so bleak
I've got it all right here, if you want to take a little peek

Castaway
02:12
|
|||
It all went wrong when I hit the ground
and I know that I never will be found
but I can't take another day
sick of being a castaway
I remember it like yesterday although it's been so long
the way my freighter struggled as I guided her for home
from stem to stern she shuddered, torque cracked bulkheads left and right
and worry crept up on me as I realized my plight
Hanging high in the methane sky is the taunting shape
Stranded in the gaze of Saturn
All alone and I'm far from home with no one to turn
Stranded in the murk of Titan
Klaxons started blazing when the ramjets exploded
Systems started failing as their circuits corroded
From stem to stern she shuddered as she crashed late in the night
and worry crept up on me as I realized my plight
Look to the sky as I wait to die, could this be the end
Stranded in the gaze of Saturn
All alone and I'm far from home with no one to turn
Stranded in the murk of Titan
So now I cry as I realize that I can't get home
My private tomb this moon of Saturn
(It all went wrong)

Wishin
03:52
|
|||
I wish I was a robot
I wish that I could fly
Made out of titanium
So I could never die
Wish I was superhuman
With the X-Ray eyes
So I could read people
Maybe just their minds
but what I really wish...
I wish I was a spaceman
Out among the stars
Playing in the nebula
Dancing through quasars
I wish I was a zombie
Wish I felt no pain
A stinking mass of rotting flesh
trying to eat your brain
but what I really wish...
Dreams are for dreamers, friend, and that's what I am
I'll keep on dreaming, that is my plan
I know nothing will come of it, I know it's all for naught
but if I have to live on this rock, I'll keep my mind off
I'm wishing all my wishes could come true
I'm wishing that I could be just like you
If only you could be just like me to
Well then I guess we could wish away these wicked blues

Dusty Trails
03:49
|
|||
The sun was hanging low
The sky was burning orange
Horizon was quiet and peaceful
under a flight of crows
The river was frozen, yeah,
and the fields were still
The only road out of town had me bent to its will.
I'm moving on again, so farewell my friend
Road plunging darker
into a no-man's land
The comforts of home are a-callin'
but they cannot be had
The night air was frozen, yeah,
something moved in the trees
Pick up the pace, man,
don't let the shadows deceive
I'm moving on again, so farewell my friend
It's time to pack all belongings
It's time to head for the hills
It's time to hack away at all these roots that have been fanning out
It's time to burn up the atlas
It's time to smother the stars
It's time to get good and lost and work at finding yourself again
These dusty trails, criss-crossing like a spider's web
These dusty trails, leading us on and on and on
The future was frightening
and a nightmarish past
Forever coming and going
taking no time to look back
The road's ever winding
Opportunity at every bend
No time for resting
if I want to live to see the end
I'm moving on again, so farewell my friend

Modern Day Prometheus
03:13
|
|||
The will of god, becomes the will of man
My project envied from all the lands
Surpass the age of cloning, in my labs
Master regeneration without scabs
Cold cold night in the sun of day
Chain chain chains I’m breaking you away
In my minds eye, enormous, a freak
Burning off their drugs, I plot their defeat
Controlling genius from all the lands
Creation of life is at my command
My hands have healed, my hands have led
I’ve walked the path others fear to tread
Cold cold night in the sun of day
Chain chain chains I’m breaking you away
My minds all clear, immune to their drugs
I am to escape and live in the sun
My soul wants to know its maker, baby
My team is ready, my team I trust
All systems active, creation now commences
Creation comes, but at what expense?
We should have buried it away
We should have expected to pay
We should have not, god must have known…
We must contain it!
Those of them which lived will deny the facts
I was their leader, now I’m in their pack
My vision altered, distorted with greed
Now I’m the monster, alive, and free
What we created, my vision conceived
Regeneration, life anew, mutation unforeseen
Making haste, reign in the Prometheus
Controlling it, before it controls us!
Cold cold night in the sun of day
Chain chain chains I’m breaking you away
My minds at ease, amidst all these trees
Deep in the amazon surrounded by leaves
My soul wants to know its maker, baby
My team is ready, my team I trust
All systems active, creation now commences
Creation comes, but at what expense?

Repercussions
04:34
|
|||
the frigid wind in the mountains was
their vengeance carried on high
rolling tremors in the valleys betrayed
the gravity of their lie
Oh, patience! A plan two years in the making
the excitement, the thrill as this vengeance builds
Oh, patience! A plan two years in the making
the excitement, the thrill, there will be repercussions
they reconvened in a dark lit courtyard
forty-seven swords honed true
the leader standing proud in battle dress
a master of jujitsu
archers sent to rooftops, guards are tied up
to the back he leads with a grin
sounds of the heavens unloading masked
the impending slaughter within
Oh, patience! A plan two years in the making
the excitement, the thrill as this vengeance builds
Oh, patience! A plan two years in the making
the excitement, the thrill, there will be repercussions
blocking the exits
two teams went forth
sparing all women and children
for whatever that’s worth
they cornered their quarry
and addressed him with regal flair
then gave a slight bow
and raised a blade up in the air...
...and the blade was brought down!
blocking the exits
two teams went forth
sparing all women and children
for whatever that’s worth
they cornered their quarry
and addressed him with regal flair
then gave a slight bow
and raised a blade up in the air...
Oh, patience! A plan two years in the making
the excitement, the thrill as this vengeance builds
Oh, patience! A plan two years in the making
the excitement, the thrill, there will be repercussions
forty-seven swords
forty-seven men
forty-seven swords
forty-seven men
forty-seven swords
forty-seven men
revenge can taste so sweet

was it the sun that was shining? maybe it was a star?
you know, maybe a movie queen, spilling out of a car?
it could have been a comet, or a plane crashing down...
it could have been an explosion, from the center of town.
Well i think...
i think there's gonna...
i think there's gonna be…
a riot!
well i couldn’t care less, it was ridiculous bright
i forced my hands into hard lumps, i was ready to fight
all at once pavement flowing, like a human tidal wave
Barreling towards me, like the end of days
Well i think...
i think there's gonna...
i think there's gonna be…
a riot!
bombs are going off and riot cops are spilling out
they’re coagulating in the bleeding streets
plastic shields throwing off reflections from the fire
oblivious to broken windows, broken limbs, and broken dreams
my vision’s doubled and my brain is throwing fits of laughter
was it the sky that was falling? possibly debris from above?
you know, maybe a building, helped by a massive shove?
it could have been an effigy, being torn all apart.
it could have been a bullet, that tore at my heart
Well i think...
i think there's gonna...
i think there's gonna be…
a riot!

Vampire Lincoln
03:07
|
|||
8 feet tall and dead as a door nail, the congress was cowering in fear
his stovepipe cast quite a shadow, and so it's been for forty odd years
none could call him a bad man, not a devil, a beast, or a brute
as a matter of fact he was a great man, feasting on the blood of truth
twisting his beard
with his crooked hands
shaping our fate
with his mighty fangs
oh silly assassin
no bullet will do
a wooden stake is more like it
you gotta ram on it through
his affliction came to notice, late on a Good-Friday night
and once the truth was known, there were no more secrets to hide
he rode around with his fangs hanging out, and collected an impressive brood
he had all of washington a'flutter doin' all he had to do
oh silly assassin, no bullet will do
vampire Lincoln is immortal
what could you ever do?
deep in the woods of Kentucky or maybe Illinois
a terrible gift was delivered, to such an awkward boy
and the boy grew old
but he would never die
never die
every man suddenly set equal, by being so much better than them
and everyone stopped all of the fighting, and an era of peace had begun
yet he kept right on politicking, elected again and again
he was still only the president, and not our undead king

The Gingerdead Men Akron, Ohio
The Gingerdead Men (tGDM) were a bad-ass, rock’n roll band. They shunned trends and embraced complete creative freedom. They
tought rock’n roll should be loud, to the point, and capable of shaking your pants and bobbing your head. Their lyrics told tall tales about the future, the past, monsters and more. Somehow, it worked. Well.
tGDM believed that massive amplification was ALWAYS the answer.
